What we do
Fly fishing is a hobby, a sport, a lifestyle, an obsession. It usually happens in beautiful places that take time and money to get to. Unless you are lucky enough to live with a pond in your backyard, it takes time to get there. If you are like me, you plan trips that focus on the fishery.
Fly casting is a skill. Master that skill and fly fishing time is more productive. Skillful casters will be more accurate, expend less effort, be more efficient at presenting a fly to the quarry.
Fly presentation is vital to being successful.
We teach you how to cast, solve problems, make it easier.
Dry fly fishing is our specialty, but we can help you with any fly fishing environment.
Basic Casting
You want to get outside and start the journey of fly fishing. How do you grip the rod? What motion do you need to learn? What is a fly rod? How does this work?
We have taught so many how to enjoy this. We cover the basics.
Intermediate
You have a fly rod and struggle to make good loops. Casting to 20 feet is okay, but beyond that and the line gets tangled and you make knots in your leader. A roll cast piles up in the water. You miss targets more often than you hit them.
We can help you get more accurate, cast further and reduce the frustration and wasted time!
Advanced
50’ is in your wheelhouse, but 75 is not in your arsenal. You struggle with double hauling and want more linespeed. Wind in your face is trouble. Wind on your casting shoulder is your nemesis.
We can get you casting to that bonefish 70’ away with the wind on your casting side - safely!
That rising trout with the bucket mouth is slurping spinners 55’ away and you need a perfect drift to get him to eat - We can show you how to get that done.
